It's time to make your plans to celebrate Independence Day "between the I's" and we have a few ideas! For the first time since 2019, the City of Dallas will host a celebration at Fair Park on July 4th, featuring food, kids' activities, and a firework spectacular. While not in Downtown, it is a short DART ride away or you can view it from any rooftop "between the i's".
Want to keep it closer to home? Klyde Warren has you covered on Saturday, July 2nd, with live music and food trucks starting at 7pm and concluding with fireworks around 9:30pm. In the heart of the CBD, catch the Old 97's in concert on July 4th at AT&T Discovery District. The party starts at 4pm, features a wide variety of food and drink options and concludes with "digital fireworks" on the giant 8K video wall. Admission is free, but you're encouraged to RSVP. Other celebrations include a patriotic concert by the DSO and the Meyerson, a pool party for guests at the Hall Arts Hotel, with rooftop viewing of the Klyde Warren show, and "Freedom Fest" at the Rode Goat. Something for everyone this year! For details on these events, as always, visit www.DDLiving.org or download our App: https://www.ddliving.org/download-apps.html Did you say free wine & chocolate? One of our favorite wine spots in downtown Dallas is Grill & Vine at the Westin on Elm Street (you can access from Main Street as well). They have a great wine by the glass list, hand-crafted cocktails and items like flatbreads and entrees including Sweet Tea Brined Chicken Breast and Porcini Ravioli. For a hotel restaurant they are also priced extremely reasonably.
On Fridays they have live music from 6-9pm which is typically acoustic guitar and singing. And on Tuesdays they have a pairing that's free. Their chef chooses a small plate and pairs it with either a beer, cocktail or wine. And it's free. This coming Wednesday they are doing a complimentary JLohr Vineyards event with live music and chocolate. From 5:30-7p meet with a rep from JLohr and sample 3 wines with chocolate while listening to live music. Now THAT's something worth putting on your calendar! And if you haven't been to Grill & Vine stop on in and enjoy! I still say they have one of the best views in downtown Dallas even though it's only on the 2nd floor. https://restaurantguru.com/Grill-and-Vine-Dallas/menu |
